Kocián Šolc Balaštík named Czech Republic’s Law Firm of Year for third time

Kocián Šolc Balaštík was named for the third consecutive year the Czech Republic’s Law Firm of the Year in the international Who’s Who Legal Awards.

The London-based independent rating institution Who’s Who Legal gave out the award. The institution has carried out an independent survey of the legal services market at the international level for over ten years. Recognized as a source of information of the legal market in more than one hundred jurisdictions worldwide, Who’s Who Legal is an official research partner of International Bar Association and strategic partner of the international law section of American Bar Association. The results of the award are officially published in the latest issue of The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers.

Who’s Who Legal editor in chief Callum Campbell said about Kocián Šolc Balaštík: "In a highly competitive field, receiving the Who’s Who Legal Law Firm of the Year Award for Czech Republic for a third time is a truly outstanding achievement. Kocián Šolc Balaštík’s continuing success is reflected in the consistently positive feedback we received that recognises the firm’s exceptional individual and collective talent. We have no hesitation in declaring Kocián Šolc Balaštík the leading firm in the country."

Petr Kasík, a partner of Kocián Šolc Balaštík, said: "We perceive the award as confirmation of the maximum effort and care that all individuals in our law firm devote to their work. When I think about the fact that, in addition to our clients, our competitors expressed praise for KSB in the survey for the third consecutive time, the more we are pleased."

The Who’s Who Legal Award is based on nominations received from clients and competitive attorneys in fifty countries. Factors taken into consideration in the appraisal include, for example, the number of attorneys from the relevant law firm mentioned by the aforementioned publication, the number of legal practice areas in which the law firm operates, the results achieved in previous appraisals and the sum of weighted votes achieved by attorneys from the law firm in question compared with the sum achieved by attorneys from other companies in the country in question.

For 2008, the publication The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers 2008 cited Kocián Šolc Balaštík partners Jiří Balaštík (banking), Pavel Dejl (competition) and Martin Šolc (merger & acquisition) and therefore KSB had the highest number of representatives mentioned by the publication compared to other appraised law offices in the Czech Republic.

Placement in the The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers cannot be influenced by financial means. More information on the appraisal method and results in all appraised categories are available at www.whoswholegal.com.
