5th Grade Students at Square Primary School presents their financial literacy project at our office

As part of the "Lawyers in Schools" project, KŠB attorney Petra Mirovská has long been dedicated to mentoring elementary school students. This year, she supported the "Lions" team from class 5.Q at the Square Elementary School in Prague's Nusle district as they prepared for the 15th Annual Financial Literacy Competition.

The team behind the "Lion's Feast" project took 1st place in the first part of the regional round, not only in Prague but across the entire Czech Republic, advancing to the online case study defense. Out of 167 entries, the Prague Lions secured their spot among the regional finalists.

On April 7, 2026, KŠB provided the children with access to our client facilities so they could present their project in the best possible light to a six-member expert jury. The competition is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic and CNB Bank Board member Jakub Seidler.

For the Lions class team, this was their very first experience defending a project online before an expert jury. Despite this, they performed brilliantly—confidently answering questions from the six-member committee, which asked them about potential funding sources for their project, how they involved the entire class, and the biggest obstacles they had to overcome during preparation. The defense was moderated by competition director RNDr. Marie Štefánková, and the jury also included Radka Skálová (financial literacy education expert), Tereza Kubíčková (Ministry of Finance), Ing. Alena Opletalová, Ph.D. (Palacký University Olomouc), Tereza Jansová (chief competition administrator), and Ing. Jakub Kratochvíl (certified EFP financial planner).

The results will be announced on April 17, 2026. We are keeping our fingers crossed for the Lions to advance to the national finals at the Czech National Bank!
