Client Workshop – pharmaceutical law after 1 January 2008
On 29 November 2007, law firm Kocián Šolc Balaštík (KSB) organized for its clients - major pharmaceutical companies - a seminar focused on important legislative changes in the pharmaceutical industry taking effect in early 2008. The lecturers at the seminar were Hana Heroldová, an attorney specializing in the area of pharmaceutical law, and Václav Pátek, tax expert at KSB.

The new price regulation for modification of medicinal products were discussed in detail at the seminar, including rules for determining maximum prices, principles for determining the amount and conditions for payment for medicinal products, competition for lowest price and other topics. Selected issues from the new legislative act on medicinal products were discussed in connection with the European legislation such as registration of medicinal products, deadlines for full protection of data of original medicinal products and clinical studies.

KŠB has been providing long-term legal advice to J&T Bank in connection with debt financing for Czech entrepreneurs. One of the most recent transactions involved granting a loan to the Alchymist Grand Hotel and Spa, one of Prague’s most renowned boutique hotels, owned by Giorgio Bonelli, a prominent figure in the Italian business community in the Czech Republic.
