Helena Navrátilová on Three Decades of the Advent Concerts of Good Will
KŠB partner Helena Navrátilová was recently interviewed on S dobrou vůlí, the podcast of the Committee of Good Will – Olga Havel Foundation. Speaking with editor Veronika Širc, Helena talked about the origins and history of the Advent Concerts of Good Will, which KŠB has been organizing for over thirty years.
It all started at a charity lunch where Václav Havel’s neckties were being auctioned off. What began as a one-time charitable initiative grew into a tradition that has raised more than CZK 27 million over three decades. The proceeds have been used to help people with disabilities and those facing social hardship, as well as seniors, students and the homeless.
In the podcast, Helena, who also sits on the Foundation’s supervisory board, reflects on how the concerts have evolved over the years and why bringing music and philanthropy together has always mattered to KŠB.
