28th Charity Concert of Good Will

The 28th Charity Concert of Good Will, which Kocián Šolc Balaštík has organised since 1995 to help support the Goodwill Committee - Olga Havel Foundation, will take place on Sunday, 12 November 2023 at 19:00 at the Church of St. Simon and St. Jude in Prague’s Old Town.

In addition to providing a welcome opportunity to get together and enjoy an evening full of beautiful music, the concert offers a great chance to show solidarity by helping to support those who need it most.

This year's concert will feature the chamber ensemble Baroco Sempre Giovane, together with accomplished oboist Vilém Veverka, performing works by Baroque composers J. S. Bach, A. L. Vivaldi and G. P. Telemann. Moreover, the Pueri Gaudentes Boys Choir will perform a collection of songs.

Admission to the concert is CZK 200, which covers all costs. In addition, there is a donation fee of CZK 1,500 that will be given as a gift to the Olga Havel Foundation. We can also arrange for your company to be presented as a sponsor.

To order your tickets or, if you wish to become a sponsor or simply make a donation, please contact Jana Šafářová:

Suburbanization Trends and Sustainable Commuting: Will the Construction Act Amendment Change the Landscape?

The discussion surrounding the current proposal to amend the Construction Act (Parliamentary Print 67) has moved to the committee stage in the Chamber of Deputies following its first reading. The primary declared objective is the acceleration of construction, particularly regarding residential buildings. The shortage of affordable housing remains a pressing issue in major cities, both in the Czech Republic and abroad, giving rise to the pervasive trend of suburbanization. This raises the question: does the proposed amendment truly have the ambition to reverse this trend, and will an increase in housing construction alone suffice?
