Kocián Šolc Balaštík Named Best National Law Firm in Czech Republic in 201220/11/12 / News

Kocián Šolc Balaštík (KŠB) was named Leading National Law Firm of the Year 2012 and also won the Competition Law category Czech Republic in the fifth annual Law Firm of the Year awards.

KŠB was also the only law firm listed as “very recommended” or “recommended” in all fifteen legal award categories, such as Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Law, Dispute Resolution and Arbitration, and Development and Real Estate Projects.

“We are very honoured, not only to have won the main category Leading National Law Firm of the Year 2012 and the Competition Law category, but also to have been nominated and recommended in each of the other categories as well. What is more, this was not the first time this year that KŠB was named the best national law firm – we were also recognized in May in Amsterdam, where we were named the Chambers Europe National Law Firm of the Year 2012 Czech Republic by leading London ratings agency Chambers & Partners. I would like to thank our clients for their support, without whom these awards would not have been possible, and the entire KŠB team for outstanding team spirit and a job well done,” said Dagmar Dubecká, KŠB’s managing partner.

“Defending first place is always more difficult than winning it, which is why I am proud KŠB won the Competition Law category again – for the fourth time in a row. This will further commit us to ensuring our services stay at the highest level in the future, not only in competition law but in all areas. The advantage we have and can always rely on at KŠB is that we truly have a great team which is a pleasure to work with,” added Pavel Dejl, a KŠB partner responsible for competition issues.

Since the Law Firm of the Year awards inception in 2008, KŠB has been acclaimed every year. The awards were presented to representatives from KŠB, including Dagmar Dubecká and Pavel Dejl, during a ceremonial dinner at the InterContinental Prague on 12 November 2012. This year’s contest took place under the auspices of Petr Nečas, the Prime Minister; Pavel Blažek, the Ministry of Justice; and the Czech Bar Association. The evaluation is based on reviews by clients, competing law firms and the event organizer – traditionally EPRAVO.CZ.
