David Elischer joins KSB as new Of Counsel04/05/12 / News

“We are looking forward to working with David and expect that he will contribute significantly to our lawyers’ theoretical training, which will in turn help us increase the level of legal advice we provide to our clients as far as private law recodification issues are concerned”, says Dagmar Dubecká, KSB’s managing partner.

“Although I am a civil law scholar and academic, I greatly welcome the opportunity for hands-on experience with legal practice since I am convinced it will contribute to my work with my students” adds David, who, as a damages specialist, participated in the consultation procedures in drafting the new civil code, which will replace the current, nearly 50-year old code.

David’s joining the KSB team means reinforcement of the professional and expert resources in the preparations for the approaching recodification of private law in the Czech Republic, to which professor Jan Dědič, one of KSB partners who also co-authored the new corporations act and many more laws in the past, greatly contributed.

The new civil code and corporations act, both of which are backbones of the civil law recodification, shall take effect on 1 January 2014. The substantial changes that it is to introduce will impact both businesses and the general public.
