Export Control System comes into operation in the Czech Republic01/03/07 / cata_tax-news

Pursuant to amendments to Commission Regulation no. 2454/93 on implementation of the customs codex, as from 1 February 2007 the Czech Republic commenced operation of the Export Control System (ECS) (e-Export), intended to facilitate rapid electronic exchange of information between customs authorities in Member States on exports to third countries.

Companies can now submit export customs declarations electronically or (until 1 January 2009) they can continue to file paper declarations on existing JSD form. Legally binding confirmations that goods have left the EU for VAT purposes are also available in electronic form. The current status of an export declaration can be viewed in the ECS on the web pages of the Czech Customs Service.
