Martin Štefko Joins Kocián Šolc Balaštík01/03/18 / News

Today Martin Štefko, a labour law specialist, joins the ranks at Kocián Šolc Balaštík (KŠB). Martin will be highly valued for his experience with personal data protection issues, which is a hot topic for many businesses due to the GDPR that will be binding in the entire EU as of 25 May 2018.

Martin is a member of the Czech Bar Association and a Senior Lecturer at the Charles University School of Law. He specializes in labour law, social security law and service law.

Martin graduated from the Charles University School of Law and was a Guest professor at NOVA Southeastern University in Florida, USA (2009) and at KU Leuven in Belgium (2016). Martin has published more than 300 articles in various legal journals, and he has also authored or co-authored 20 books concerning labour law and social security law. In 2011, 2014 and 2017, he was awarded by the Charles University’s Rector for the best legal book. Moreover, he is a member of the European Labour Law Journal’s editorial board and a Max Planck Institute correspondent. Martin speaks English, Polish and German.
