KŠB Named Best Law Firm in the Czech Republic27/04/15 / News

Kocián Šolc Balaštík (KŠB) was named Law Firm of the Year in the Czech Republic for a third time in the Chambers Europe Awards for Excellence in Amsterdam on Friday.

The award by the renowned British legal rating agency is even more prestigious this year as both Czech and international law firms operating on the Czech market were rated together in one category. Of the seven law firms shortlisted, KŠB was the only independent firm from the Czech Republic.

“We are very proud and honoured to have received the award. I would like to thank our clients, competing law firms who evaluated us positively and, of course, all of my colleagues at KŠB. After being recognized by “The Lawyer” for the most significant competition case, this makes the second major international award we have had the pleasure to receive recently,” says Dagmar Dubecká, KŠB’s managing partner, who together with KŠB partner Martin Krejčí, accepted the award in Amsterdam. “We are very happy to have won such a major award in the same year as our firm celebrates its 25th birthday and we are pleased that, still after 25 years on the market, we remain one the most respected law firms in the Czech Republic”, added Martin.

KŠB received the Award of Excellence for the third time this year, having also won in 2008 and 2012. KŠB has also been repeatedly nominated as one of the top five national Czech law firms in other years.

The Chambers Europe Awards for Excellence are presented by London-based publisher Chambers & Partners, which specializes in conducting legal ratings worldwide. Chambers & Partners’ annual ratings map top-quality law firms in Europe, the US, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific. Law firms are researched, assessed, and ranked on a regular basis by over 130 analysts.

The latest edition of Chambers Europe lists KŠB in several law categories, including Banking & Finance, Competition/Antitrust, Corporate, M&A, Dispute Resolution/Arbitration, Projects and Energy, Restructuring/Insolvency, Tax and TMT. KŠB has been ranked repeatedly as one of the top law firms both by Chambers Europe and Chambers Global, as well as by other ratings agencies (IFLR, Legal 500). Both the law firm and its individual lawyers are often recognized for the quality of their services.

In March 2015, KŠB was also awarded in The Lawyer European Awards 2015. KŠB’s competition team, led by Partner Pavel Dejl, received major international acclaim after a jury of leading European lawyers and senior partners named a case won by KŠB against the Czech Republic before the European Court for Human Rights as the most remarkable competition case of the year. In addition to winning in that category, KŠB was also nominated in the category Law Firm of the Year in Central Europe 2015.
