On 14 April 2020, the Act on Compensation Bonus for self-employed persons, the so-called Twenty-five, was published in the Collection of Laws, which aims to support self-employed persons whose business has been negatively affected in connection with the spread of infection by coronavirus.

The Act on Compensation Bonus was promulgated in the Collection of Laws under number 159/2020 Coll. on April 14, and came into effect a day later, i.e. April 15, 2020. We informed you in our previous article about the rules for obtaining the compensation bonus for self-employed persons, which is contained in the Act.

As of April 10, 2020, self-employed persons can apply for a compensation bonus through the forms published on their website under this link by the Tax Administration. Under the same link, you can also find instructions on how to fill out the application and the email address of the bonus manager where the self-employed can send their application if they decide to apply by email. However, as the law was only published in the Collection on April 14, 2020, applications received by bonus managers before that date have not yet been reimbursed. They will not be processed until the following days.

At its meeting on April 20, 2020, the Government approved the extension of the Act by another bonus period, from May 1 to June 8, 2020. Applying for a compensation bonus of CZK 500 for each day in this new period, for which the self-employed person meets the requisite legal conditions, is, however, not yet possible. The government proposal will be submitted for approval to the Chamber of Deputies at the ongoing meetings shortly.

The application form is not complicated. The self-employed person can fill out the application directly in the web application, which also contains a guide to each box. An alternative is also an interactive form or filling in a document manually in paper form. At the same time, however, it is necessary to remember to attach a signed declaration of honor to the application. The application can be delivered to the bonus manager in one of the following forms:

• own data box of self-employed persons,

• by post, when the original of the signed application must be enclosed,

• by e-mail - at the same time it is sufficient to scan or take pictures of your handwritten documents so that the information is legible, attach it to the e-mail and send the bonus manager to the e-mail address posted on the Financial Administration website here,

• Data box of another entity (e.g. through an accountant, tax advisor, etc.) - in this case it is necessary that the copies of the application and the affidavit sent are signed by the applicant in their own hand.
